Lunch you can either take it out with you in the morning or come back to the lodge. During your stay there will be at least one or more of our famous shore lunches of fresh fish that you will provide at picnic point half way down the lake shore. Dinners are served at 6:00pm with most coming in a little early to enjoy a cool one or a glass of wine before dinner. With the last dinner of your stay being our famous barbequed steak dinner over an open fire.
We offer duplex style cabins with 2 guests per room and are fully equipped with twin beds, private washrooms with hot showers and its own glass front wood stove. Every cabin is on the water front with easy access to the lodge along the gravel walk ways.
All our boats are 14 ft. commercial Lunds with 15 hp, 4 stroke, electric start outboard motors. Each boat is equipped with fish finders, VHF radios, life jackets, padded swivel seats, paddles, cradles for landing the fish, and rod holders. Your boat is always full of fuel in the morning and then topped up at dinner time. You don’t need to worry about bringing your gear up in the evening after fishing as you will have the same boat for the duration of your stay.
You can bring your own gear or we have gear for rent.
Medium action rods with 15lb test line for both Trout and Pike. If you use breaded line a 20 lb leader must be tied on the breaded line. The reason for this is to prevent damage to the fish as they like to roll on the line when landing and the breaded line will cut the fish. On ultra light rods will be allowed.
Nothing less than a 7 weight rod and preferably an 8 weight. We recommend 3 types of lines, floating, sink tip, and full sink lines.
Medium to heavy action rods (20 – 25 lbs) with 20 lb test line. We use 27 lb lead core line instead of down riggers. When using lead core line you must use a level wind reel to stop the lead core line from balling up on your reel. We fish only with single barbless hooks on all plugs, spoons, jigs and flies, this makes for the ease release of the fish and reduces the damage that maybe caused to the fish. If you are using plugs remove all hooks and place a single hook at the end of the plug, this makes the plug work properly and you will have fewer misses. Weather using spoons or plugs, both casting and trolling some of the favorite colours are yellow, fire tiger and chartreuse. We also use a lot of salt water jigs in various colours, when using this method a 2 oz. jig head is preferred. For spoons, Daredevils, Len Thompson, Kitamats, Rubby Eyed Wigglers and Williams all work well. Steel leaders are a must for both casting and fly fishing when fishing for Northern Pike.

We have a full tackle shop at the lodge to fill all of your needs should you run out or want to try something different.
Wildlife viewing both around the lodge and lake shore. Moose, bears, wolves, common loons, arctic loons, trumpeter swans, ducks and geese can all be seen. An evening of cruising around the lake can be a great time for the camera enthusiast or if you just want to take a brake from the days fishing.
Hiking around the lodge to the old homestead or old trappers cabin is just a short walk and a great way to get some exercise after setting in the boat all day. For the more adventurous, a hike up the mountain will give you a spectacular view of the lake and surrounding area. Almost always moose can be spotted in one of the many meadows behind the lake.
A relaxing evening in the hot tube with a glass of wine and an incredible view of the lake, St Ellis Range and sunset maybe what you need.
For you golfers try out your skills at our very unique driving range. We have had to quite sometimes as the Northern Pike will eat the golf balls.
The camp fire is always going in the evenings were many stories and jokes are told. You may even want to bring back the memories of being a kid again and toast a marshmallow or roast a hot dog over the open fire.
